Wedding, Wedding, Wedding!!!!

Good Morning Folks.....Jess here...Yes I know, I know.....I haven't posted in awhile....and I do believe I promised (as my brother was kind enough to point out) at least one post a week....But honestly folks there hasn't been much progress as far as the wedding is concerned....were in saving mode. Yes you heard that correctly....saving mode....which by the way isn't much fun....but totally worth it in the end.
So we had our big Cinco De JulyO Fiesta....which was a huge success....and those of you that have no idea what Cinco De JulyO is....Cinco De JulyO is a holiday...Budd and I made up....we thought it would be cool to have a Fiesta (really we just wanted an excuse to enjoy some great Mexican food with some of our closest friends)....and of course we had to give our Fiesta a name....so that is how we came up with the idea of Cinco De JulyO.....It was allot of fun....Budd made some yummy enchiladas....we jammed out to some great mariachi music....Jeanna and George brought a yummy 7 layer bean dip...complete with the Mexican flag!!! Crystal and Shan brought some yummy sopapilla cheese cake....in which Kim described as "orgasmic" .....of course we did some Mexican decorating....and no Mexican holiday would be complete with out margaritas and tequila!!!! I was dressed in my oh so comfortable Mexican dress...and taco earrings of course....and we even had Mexican names....Budd=Buddrico Suave, Justice=Justicio Del Torro, Jessica=Jessikita Bonita.....this was so much fun we have decided to have one every year!!!! I for one am proud of our Mexican heritage...and what it brought to America....with out our Mexicano friends....we would not have Mexican food (tex-mex or not), we would not have great mexicano music....and just for the record I am against what Arizona is doing....its racist....un-realistic....and just wrong!!!! I don't want to turn our wedding blog into a political discussion ....I just think its wrong....no I don't think people from any country should live here and not have to pay taxes....like everyone else....but I think there is a better way....after all we are all people....we should all have compassion for one another....and help each other out....not just turn our backs on one another. So that's all I am going to say about that.

Back to the wedding....we have been searching wedding dresses....searching wedding bands for Budd....lots of searching, searching, and more searching. Oh...we did re-schedule our engagement pics for December 5,2010 ....August was just too hot...and too much going on....with Justice starting school....we figured it would be better to re-schedule our engagement pics....I really wanted to do them in October....but our photographer is booked....and the only time he could get us in is December.....so December it is!!! I would much rather freeze than sweat anyway!!!! So we are really excited about that!!! I have been trying to stay calm about everything....I know as soon as January gets here....its all going to be down hill from there....we are going to be so busy!!! Which is very exciting....and a little nerve wrecking all at the same time!!!! Well I guess that's all for now....I will try to post more regularly!!!!

Happy Sunday people...Budd here. I am posting a few pics of the wedding venue. If you don't already know...The Victorian House is a beautiful spot in Kaufman, Texas. Not sure how much some of you do and do not know, so I'm just covering the basics.

The house has a wrap around porch with ceiling fans and rockin chairs. The porch leads around to the back of the house where you pass thru a wooden arch and stroll alongside a big ivy covered wall. The walkway branches off two directions. One way leads back to the outdoor part of the reception area that includes a pool and bar area. The other way will lead you...

...over a bridge out towards the ceremony area. There is a Chapel and two cottages to house the bride and groom parties for the pre wedding activities. The is also a gazebo that lights up at night. As far as that goes the whole house lights up and is really a sight to see. It's one of the reasons we love this venue so much since we wanted the whole thing to go into the evening hours. With a fall wedding in Texas it's usually best to go till the sun goes down!

I am sure Jess and I will be posting some new stuff soon so keep checkin back for the newest updates! Also, remember to not just check in and read, but please feel free to become a follower to help fullfill the false sense of gratification and acceptance you can only acheive thru social networking!

The Cake!!

Good afternoon Folks....Jess here....I am not sure why...but cake is on my mind...maybe its because its right before lunch and I am hungry...or maybe its because we have to decide what kind of cake we want...we are thinking about doing the top layer of the wedding cake and then doing cup cakes...which is super cute!!! And there are sooooo many different variations!!! I have also thought about doing a small brides cake (my brother is making the grooms cake) and then doing a couple of sheet cakes....in which case sheet cake is always cheeper!! Soooo I dont know...I really do like the cup cake idea though....its a little different....and who doesnt like cup cakes?? Here are some pics of some cakes and cup cakes that I really like...Tell me what you think!!

This black and white cup cake tower is super cute!!!!

I also like anything damask....I thought this one is really pretty!!!

Ooooohhhhh....and look at this one.....Isnt it pretty??? I also like the white on white....they have ones with all of this white scroll work....super pretty!!!!!

See there are just soooo many to choose from!!!

This is one of my favorites.....Now if I could just get something like this in cup cake form!!!!

Well I guess that's all for now.....Everyone let me know what thier favorite is ....Im curious to know!!!!

Guest List!!!

Soooo OMG!!!! This week Budd and I have decided that our goal is to work on the guest list....and man can people add up!! Not to mention I was reading a forum on theknot.com ...it was about guest list horror stories....people that will R.S.V.P with like 10 extra people....????...Seriously?? That's crazy!!! I can't believe there are people that would do that...what a terrible position ...because then you have to feel bad to tell someone..."Sorry but we cant accommodate ...your whole entire family...that we don't know to begin with" ...that just really blows my mind...I just hope we don't have to go through some of those horror stories ourselves...I do know that from what I am reading...to expect a few more guests than you plan for...and also expect people to RSVP and then not show up...those things I think I can handle!!

So this week we are working on the guest list...that way we will have a better idea of what to expect. I have been reading some articles on how to know who to invite...and who not to invite...we would love to be able to invite everybody we ever knew...but as anyone who has put a wedding together knows...unless you have a endless budget (in which case I don't know to many people that have that) then you have to stick with your budget and start with close friends and family. So that's where we are going to start...close friends and family. If anybody has any advice on this ...please do share!!!!

We are also this week starting our wedding day healthy eating plan...we have been enjoying this summer with lots of BBQ's eating way too much unhealthy BBQ foods...so starting today we are back to the basics...lean meats with lots of fruits and vegetables....and back to the gym we go!!! We have to do our engagement pictures in less that two months and we want to feel and look our best!! So even though the wedding is more than a year away...we are still doing lots of planning!! And even though we have already done allot...there is still lots to do!!! I think I am even going to have to give up my weekly chocolate bars :( and without my chocolate I may end up turning into a brideZilla after all!!

That's all for now folks...Toodles!!!

Budd and Jessica are getting married!!!

OK so I am new to this blogging thing...but it seems like the thing to do these days....and after all...I finally have something besides mindless chatter to blog about!! So welcome to Budd and Jess's wedding blog...I cant promise that I will be logging in everyday to post updates...but I am thinking once a week is doable!!

So yes we are preparing for a wedding!!! I know how exciting!! We are both very excited to be able to go through this process of planning our wedding!! We are both very creative and want every aspect of our wedding to be our own. And I have to say that I am very impressed by the decision's that have already been made...and the plans that are already set in stone!! I guess I should start with the date...we have decided on Friday October 21, 2011 ...we met in October and we were both 21 when we met...so that's how we chose the date....and plus we wanted a fall wedding...we didn't want a hot wedding or a super cold wedding....so we figured October is a good month. So go ahead and write that on your calendars people October 21, 2011 is the date!!! OK so the second thing that has been decided are the wedding colors...we are going with white, black and hot pink (of course) ...we are both huge fans of white and black...and you cant go wrong with hot pink...and I am VERY excited!!!

So we have the date, the colors...and of course the wedding venue...yes you heard correctly...we already have the wedding venue...we decided on The Victorian House in Kaufman, Texas....and for those of you that have never been there....its sooooo pretty!! In fact when we went to tour The Victorian House...we didn't even want to leave!!! It was very comfortable feeling....I could just see us stepping away from the reception for a moment to take a breath, sitting on the huge rocking chairs on the wrap around porch...enjoying the stars and the laughter of all of our friends and family!!! We just fell in love with it...and we both instantly knew it was the place!! Neither one of us can wait to get married there...it definitely has a vintage feel...and we are both in love with vintage...so its perfect!!!

We have the photographer...in which I have to say I was getting a little worried about...who knew that photographers were so expensive?? Well let me tell you first hand...they are!! And also we are picky...we are very artistic...and we really wanted someone who could bring an artistic touch on the wedding pics...and man did we get lucky!! I happen to have a friend at work who is also getting married next year...and she told me about this local photographer, that one of her friends had used at thier wedding...and not only was his prices reasonable...but he was very good....so naturally I had to check him out!! His web page is sixfourteenphotography.com ....so if anyone gets a chance, check out his web page....I was instantly impressed...and of course emailed him right away....so Sunday August 29, 2010 we have an appointment to do our engagement pics...and we are super excited!!!! Well I supposed I am done blogging for now...but dont worry I will be back!! I know we have lots of time...but I am a planner...and as a planner I figure the sooner we can figure things out....the smoother things will go!! I am planning on NOT turning into a bridezilla!!! So we will see how that will go!!!

Toodles,
Jessica
